Lithuanian football fans travel to Vilnius on a special overnight train
After a 20-year break, a historic night train ran from Vilnius via Riga to Tallinn!
Lithuanian national football team fans took this train to the UEFA qualifying match Finland-Lithuania in Helsinki.
This is a one-off trip that symbolises the cooperation among Baltic carriers - Vivi and LTG Link and Elron.
The overnight train with comfortable sleeping accommodation, dining and 180 seats in five carriages is operated by LTG Link.
Vivi and Elron are partners in hosting the night train, providing drivers and other technical support. The train is accompanied on Latvian territory by the Vivi train driver, instructor Česlavs Cvetkovs.
Fans will depart Tallinn after midnight on 10 October and arrive in Vilnius at midday.
The last time a night train ran between all three Baltic states was in 1997.
From 6 January this year, Vivi, LTG Link and Elron offer passengers connecting journeys between Tallinn-Tartu-Riga-Vilnius.
